"Our experience with Service Experts started 9 years ago. When we moved into our house, I saw that the hot water heater was suspect. We negotiated with the sellers to pay for a replacement and I should have done the same for the HVAC because there were external signs on the 2-ton unit air handler in the garage at the time. Sure enough, I went into the garage one morning and saw the water all over the floor from the condenser drain pan that had corroded all the way through. Our HOA President referred us to Service Experts. We called, a Sales Engineering representative showed up, we signed and two new units were installed by that evening. We have been completely satisfied with the performance and service in the previous nine years. People have advised that you paid too much for Lennox with Service Experts. My response is: When you buy quality, you only cry once. Meanwhile our critics have had to live uncomfortably with their Goodman purchases in all respects: they dont mention our HVAC selection any more at all.
Im going to repeat our hurricane story. During Hurricane Irma, September 2017. During the Hurricane on Sunday night, a neighborhood Banyan Tree blew down across Jog Road, taking a power line with it. We lost power along with over 1400 other people in Boca Raton. On Tuesday evening at 7:35 pm, Florida Power & Light restored power, but HVAC at our house didnt come on. I got on line with Service Experts and made an appointment that night for Wednesday morning. Michael Garcia showed up and found two smoked thermostats that werent in stock. Michael went to Pompano and then to Doral to get two thermostats and returned. He waited for me to get back from a medical transport job so he could help me get the thermostats registered. Looking back at my records, Im very appreciative of Service Experts for Michaels dedication and expertise; but well be even happier now because surge protectors are part of the installation and so is the replacement cost of failed thermostats. Every service tech from Service Experts has been terrific.
Like you say, weve seen each other three times, watching the deterioration of the condenser coils deteriorate in the air handlers. When Ramon showed up on June 4, we looked at the coils in the 2-ton unit which, to me, looked like they were about to go; and Ramon showed me how the 4-ton coils were even worse. Ramon explained how the corrosion is transported by the blower fan into the ductwork and become a health problem; so I told him to make sure you got over here for a quote while Cheryl did her brand and cost research. She found an evaluation that said that Trane was superior for south Florida application because the composite material coil housing is corrosion resistant. When you explained that the design was inverted with the coils on the top and the blower on bottom, I knew that we wanted nothing to do with that design. What they say in sales is that it pays to know competitive product information benefits and features! I think we made our decision pretty quickly and soon met Jonathan and Yasmani, our installers.
Jonathan worked around the hard rains that came several times during the installation, so the deserve a lot of credit for their persistence. Despite the inclement weather, the installation was expeditious and flawless. Thanks to José's solution to relocate the 4-ton unit condensate pump behind the pedestal, Yasmani went the extra distance. Instead of cutting through the pedestal, he snaked through the wall vent and mounted the condensate pump from the back inside wall of the pedestal. Once, when I went out through the garage, I found Jonathan using one of our outside brooms to sweep the debris from the garage. I told him, Hey, youre doing my job. Jonathan responded, We found your garage clean and well leave it clean. Jonathan, Yasmani and I worked together to hose down and sweep the back terrace after removing the 4-ton unit from the inside and side yard.
Besides being knowledgeable, Jonathan and Yasmani are very technically skilled: the best combination. If you asked for anything more, youd find that they both are personable and amiable, very cooperative with us and one another to get the work done.
The first night and two days after installation, we really appreciate the difference these new units make. The infinite speed fan and smart thermostats keep the temperature uniform and the fan is hardly heard or felt. We couldnt hear the condensate pump throughout the night at all!
