What NATE Certification is and Why it Matters

November 08, 2016

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning in West Palm Beach always talks about how our team of experts are NATE-certified, and while it sounds encouraging, what does it really mean?

NATE is an abbreviation for North American Technician Excellence and, as stated on their website, is the nation’s largest certification organization for HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and refrigeration technicians. The organization was developed by and has been supported by the entire HVAC and refrigeration industry but not everyone in the industry is required to be certified by NATE. The certification is optional and technicians can work in the heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration industry without being certified through NATE.

It’s important to Service Experts that our team is NATE-certified to make sure we are sending the most qualified and skilled technicians into your home. To make sure technicians meet these benchmarks, the NATE-certification exams validate real-world working knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems for technicians. The exams are knowledge-based assessments that assess the technician’s knowledge of these subjects.

Since Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning focuses on the HVAC side of NATE-certification instead of refrigeration, there are only specific areas relevant to our technicians. NATE assessment candidates may obtain installation and/or service certification in one or more of the specialty areas listed below:
