Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

This October, two of our Service Experts centers will be making a statement with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both painting two of their company vans pink for the fight against breast cancer.

Throughout the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be donating 20% of all sales from their pink vans to their local Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help fight breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be giving 5% of all sales from their pink vans plus $10 for every furnace tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second October Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted multiple vans pink to fundraise for this great cause. In 2015, Fras-Air raised over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. David Schneider, the general manager and one of his employees both lost their mothers to different forms of cancer and were inspired to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute said that 107,184 women in New Jersey suffered from breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider explained. “While the amount of cases is actually declining each year, that still leaves a large number of families who are struggling with this disease, and there is still a serious need for research and support.”

Chris Overton, the General Manager for Service Experts of Raleigh, reiterated Schneider’s sentiments. “According to the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the most prominent type of cancer in North Carolina – for women and men.”
